LSC Alumni & Current UNC Player, Satara Murray
Nov 29 2012 - LSC Staff
photo On a late summer evening in September, the UNC Women’s soccer team traveled to College Park to play the University of Maryland.  About 15 minutes into the game, Satara Murray heads a ball (with her face vs. her head) and says she heard a 'cracked' sound.  She said that her nose is really hurting but continues playing the game.  She plays all 90 minutes of the game while in a tremendous amount of pain.

UNC would go onto lose to MD 2-1.  The worse for wear players come off the field and go through their cool down routine, and prepare to head back to North Carolina.  All the time Satara doesn't let anyone know just how much her nose is hurting.  She calls her mother after the game and tells her all this, (and her mom thinks to herself her nose is broken, but didn’t tell Satara this), all she says to her daughter is that she should probably ice it down and see the Trainer.
