Mar 14 – DTA White:

Lonestars vs. DTA White – Won 3-0
Shots on Goal:   Lonestar’s (8/3=11); DTA White  (6/4=10)
           Corner Kicks:  Lonestar’s (1/1=2); DTA White   (1/4=5)
           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (0/0=0); DTA White  (0/1=1)
           Lonestar’s Goals: Justin (1); Jake (1); Ian (2);
                             Assist: Hayden (1)

The Lonestar’s looked amazing in the first half today, scoring three goals in the first ten minutes.  Their one touch passes all seem to be in synch starting with a goal by Justin and assist by Hayden in the 5th min.  Jake added another goal in the sixth min with a high kick that got a great bounce over the goalies head.  Ian finished the scoring with a nice direct free kick over the reach of the goalie in the 9th min.  In the second half, the team seemed to do more dribbling and the domination of the first half wasn’t there.

Mar 13 – Cyclones:

Lonestars vs. Georgetown Cyclones – Lost 1-3
Shots on Goal:   Lonestar’s (4/6=10); Georgetown Cyclones  (6/4=10)
           Corner Kicks:  Lonestar’s (0/0=0); Georgetown Cyclones   (1/4=5)
           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (0/0=0); Georgetown Cyclones  (0/1=1)
           Lonestar’s Goals: Adam (1)
                             Assist: None

The Lonestar’s started the game like a team that knew they were the best team on the field and showed that with 10 shots on goal during the game.  And even though the final score reflected a 1-3 loss – a rematch would likely put the Lonestar’s as the winner.  They opened the scoring in the 14th min with a sensational direct free kick from Adam from about 30 yds – straight to the upper left post.  Although Georgetown never looked like the better team in play, they returned goals off direct free kicks in the 29th and 34th min.  They added an insurance goal in the 49th min sealing the win.

Mar 7 – Strikers:

Lonestars vs. Strikers – Won 2-0
           Shots on Goal:   Lonestar’s (4/2=6); Strikers  (3/5=8)
           Corner Kicks:  Lonestar’s (0/1=1); Strikers   (3/3=6)

           Lonestar’s Goals: Ian (1); Jessey (1);
                            Assist: Andrew (1)

The Lonestars wasted no time scoring a goal in the 4th min as Ian received the ball from Andrew and punched through the goalies reach for first goal of the season.  Jessey took rebound off goalie and scored in the 55th min, helping add a cushion.  Boys played one of their best games of the Spring Season.

Mar 6 – Lonestar’s Red-Buda:

     Lonestars’s vs. Lonestar’s Red-Buda – Lost 0-4
           Shots on Goal:   Lonestar’s (1/3=4); Lonestar’s Red-Buda  (2/3=5)
           Corner Kicks:  Lonestar’s (3/0=3); Lonestar’s Red-Buda   (0/0=0)
           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (2/0=2); Lonestar’s Red-Buda  (4/3=7)
           Lonestar’s Goals: None

The Lonestar’s started off with the wind and was playing very well when a breakaway by Buda player put a goal in the 16th min.  The boys appeared to let down after that, giving up gals in the 32d, 40th, and 59th min.  Wasn’t the start to season that everyone had hoped for.

           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (3/0=3); Inferno  (0/0=0)
           Lonestar’s Goals: None

After three games in three days, the boys started the first half playing like they were in slow motion – and the score at intermission was 0-0.  Three min into the 2d half, the Inferno scored off a direct kick and that was all they would need to win 2-0.  Although the Lonestars put seven shots on goal in the second half, the magic touch from the previous games wasn’t there.  The season ended with a .500 record

Nov 12 – CrossFire:

Lonestars vs. CrossFire – Lost 0-3

           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (2/0=2); CrossFire  (1/0=1)
           Lonestar’s Goals: None

The Lonestars played a fast, skilled game in the second meeting with Crossfire, but the final score ended up with a loss of 3-0.  The Lonestars continued their energy from the night before and made many outstanding plays.  CrossFire scored on an amazing shot in the 3d minute, and added two more goals in the 26th and 54th min.

           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (1/2=3); Dallas Texans  (0/0=0)
           Lonestar’s Goals: Ian 3 (8)

The Lonestars came out running hard, fast, with excellent passing.  In the 15th min, Ian outran the defense and scored the first of his three goals.  In the 32d min, Adam popped the ball over the defense, and Ian was able to outrun their defense again.  In the 68th min, Hayden made a nice pass through the middle, beyond the defense, and Ian completed his hat trick.

           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (1/2=3); Bastrop Inferno  (0/0=0)
           Lonestar’s Goals: Ian 3 (8)

The Lonestar’s won their second straight game with Ian hitting the hat trick.  In the 15th min, Ian got by the defense on a breakaway scoring his sixth goal of the season.  In the 32d min, Ian was able to zip past the defense with a nice over the top pass from Adam.  The Inferno made the game close scoring with <1min before half.  Each team went back and forth until the 68th min, when Ian hit his third goal of the game - eighth of the season.  Hayden set that play up with a pass through the defense and Ian won the foot race with a nice move on the goalie.  The win put Lonestars at 4-3 and maintained their slight chance for playoff spot.

Oct 31 – Dallas Texans:

Lonestars vs. Dallas Texans – Won 2-1
Shots on Goal:   Lonestar’s (5/2=7); Dallas Texans  (1/2=3)
           Corner Kicks:  Lonestar’s (1/2=3); Dallas Texans   (0/1=1)
           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (2/0=2); Dallas Texans  (0/0=0)
           Lonestar’s Goals: Ian 1 (5); Adam 1 (1)

The Lonestar’s cruised to a 2-1 win over the Dallas Texans (DTA) on a cold and early Sat morning game.  They were aggressive in the first half controlling the temple of the game – spending almost 30 min in the offensive side of the field.  They punched through a goal in the 22d min when Ian kicked a mishandled ball by the goalie into the net for his fifth goal of the season.  On kickoff of the 2d half, the Lonestar’s lined up for a fast break and almost scored.  However, the aggressive, dominating team of the first half only showed a few times as the two teams played more balanced.  The Lonestar’s increased their lead to 2-0 when Adam scored his first goal of the season in the 60th min off of a corner kick.  DTA scored in the 68th min off a corner kick where a lot of bodies at the goal appeared to kick Ben allowing an easy touch.  The win evened the Lonestar’s record at 3-3 and firmly entrenched them into 3d place.

Oct 24 – Austin United:

Lonestars vs. Austin United – Lost 0-4
Shots on Goal:   Lonestar’s (2/1=3); Austin United  (7/2=9)
           Corner Kicks:  Lonestar’s (0/1=1); Austin United   (6/1=7)
           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (0/0=0); Austin United  (1/0=1)
           Lonestar’s Goals: None

The Lonestar’s ended up being over matched in the rematch with the first place Austin United team.  Austin United played the first half with a strong wind and scored goals in the 2d, 28th, and 33d minute.  Lonestar’s played a much better second half limiting Austin United to only one goal, two SOG and one corner kick.  The Lonestar’s had several fast breaks and spent more time in the offensive side of the field.  They just missed scoring a goal in the 69th min during a fast break.  Louis made a great crossing pass to Ian who just missed putting into the corner of the goal.

Oct 17 – Calvary Red:

Lonestars vs. Calvary Red – Won 3-2
Shots on Goal:   Lonestar’s (1/4=5); Calvary Red  (1/4=5)
           Corner Kicks:  Lonestar’s (2/3=5); Calvary Red   (2/2=4)
           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (1/1=2); Calvary Red  (0/0=0)
           Lonestar’s Goals: John 1 (1); Trever 1 (1); Ian 1 (4)

The Lonestars started off fast getting a header goal in the 14th minute from John.  The next two goals were by the Calvary on bizarre set of calls from Refs who stated that goalie Ben had stepped out of the box during punts.  Both those calls resulted in direct free kicks just outside the 18 in the 21st min and the 44th min.  The Lonestars benefited from another ref whistle when Calvary Red was called for a handball in the box in the 50th minute.  Trevor hit a perfect PK into the right post.  Two min later, Ian was able to sneak a trap play and on the fast break easily scored on the 1x1 with the goalie.

Oct 3 – Crossfire 96B:

Lonestars vs. Crossfire – Lost 1-3

           Corner Kicks:  Lonestar’s (0/0=0); Crossfire   (2/3=5)
           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (0/0=0); Crossfire  (0/0=0)
           Lonestar’s Goals: Ian 1 (3)

The Lonestars started the early morning game looking like walking wounded with three players on the sideline with injuries and sickness.   The game started off looking like the Lonestars would dominate – scoring the first goal by Ian in the 10th min.  After that point, the Crossfire seemed to catch fire and dominated the rest of game offensively taking 11 shots on goals – connecting on 3.

Lonestars vs. Austin United Blue 96 – Lost 0-1
Shots on Goal:   Lonestar’s (2/1=3); AU Blue  (2/1=3)
           Corner Kicks:  Lonestar’s (1/0=1); AU Blue   (1/3=4)
           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (0/0=0); AU Blue  (2/0=2)
           Lonestar’s Goals: None

AU shocked the Lonestars scoring the only goal of the game with only 17 seconds off the clock.  AU continued applying pressure and dominating the offensive play in the first half.  They kept Goalie Griffin busy with 15 different touches – but all shots were wide or high of the goal.   Both teams taking advantage of a silent referee whistle engaged in physical activity usually associated with American Football.  This physical play jump started the Lonestars into the second half!  The Lonestars played to same caliber of play - consistently changing field position with AU.  Hopefully this aggressive play will carry into their meeting with the Texans next Sat.

Lonestars vs. Cavalry Red – Won 2-0

           Corner Kicks:  Lonestar’s (6/1-7); Cavalry Red  (1/4-5)
           Offside’s:  Lonestar’s (2/1-3); Cavalry Red (0/0-0)
           Lonestar’s Goals: Ian 2 (2)
The Lonestar’s started the season with a 2-0 victory over the Harker Heights Cavalry Red led by two goals from Ian Anderson.  In the 13th min, Ian took a break away pass and sprinted inside the 18 putting the shot perfectly beyond the reach of the goalie.  In the 46th min, Ian repeated similar play again putting the Lonestar’s up 2-0.  The offense amassed a total of six shots on goal with several fast break aways.  The defense played very well with Griffin Shelor blocking four shots on goal.  The team played very well and looked much improved since the Labor Day Tournament just two short weeks ago.

Shots on Goal:   Lonestars (0/1-1); EXTREME (7/1-8)
Corner Kicks:  Lonestars (0/0-0); EXTREME (2/0-2)
           Offside’s:  Lonestars (0/0-0); EXTREME (1/0-1)
           Lonestars Goals: Mahmoud (1)
The Lonestars only had one shot on goal - but made it count in the 50th min.  Adam scored off a direct free kick just outside the 18th.  After the goal, the ref called the game because of bad behavior from one of the Extreme's parents.  The first half was all about what the Extreme wasn't able to accomplish.  They had 7 shots on goals and more than a dozen wide shots.  The Lonestars were bending, but didn't break!!!

Sep 5 (430) – SELECT FORCE 96:
Lonestars vs. SELECT FORCE – Lost 0-9
Shots on Goal:   Lonestars (0/0-0); SELECT FORCE (12/0-12)
Corner Kicks:  Lonestars (0/0-0); SELECT FORCE(1/0-1)
           Offside’s:  Lonestars (0/0-0); SELECT FORCE (1/0-1)
           Lonestars Goals: None
The final score doesn't show the determination the Lonestars played with in the second half.  After giving up eight goals in first half, they limited the eventual tournament winners to only one goal in the second half - playing with high determination.  Outstanding turn-around and gutsy performance.

Sep 5 (1030) – TSC TEXANS 96 WHITE:
Lonestars vs. TSC TEXANS 96 WHITE – Lost 0-2
Shots on Goal:   Lonestars (0/1-1); TEXANS (4/2-6)
Corner Kicks:  Lonestars (0/1-1); TEXANS (4/3-7)
           Offside’s:  Lonestars (1/2-3); TEXANS (2/1-3)
           Lonestars Goals: None
Although the Lonestars started the tournament with a loss, there was a lot of promise as they held the Texans to only two goals - one of those off a PK
