AUSTIN - Internationally accomplished development and performance expert Andy Thomson has joined Lonestar Soccer Club as the High Performance Director. Thomson comes to Lonestar from San Antonio FC’s (SAFC) technical staff where he served as the assistant coach.
As part of industry leading expert Raymond Verheijen’s World Football Academy (WFA), Andy is classified as a WFA expert. The WFA is the one of the world’s leading institutes in coaching education. His experiences with WFA provide a strategic and robust methodology, integrating player development & periodization. Thomson’s role at Lonestar will include analysis of technical data through individual and team periodization plans, individual and team video analysis, individual and physical conditioning programs as well as concussion screenings.

With thorough experience in professional player development with St. Mirren FC in Scotland, an extensive background in athletic development with the Scottish Institute of Sport, international experience at National team level with the U.S. Soccer Federation (U.S. Paralympic National Team) and with over 17 years of experience in coaching, Thomson provides an experienced perspective on soccer performance and Lonestar is proud to bring him on staff.
