Boys ECNL Program Update
Lonestar Soccer Club is excited to announce the acceptance of an invitation to join the Boys ECRL (Regional League) starting August 1, 2022, for U13-U19 boys (born 2010-2004) participating at Lonestar Soccer Club.
The Boys ECRL is a competitive platform below the ECNL designed to provide high-level competition to clubs. In the 2022-23 season, Lonestar ECRL teams will play in the ECRL Texas conference against the same high level clubs that current Lonestar ECNL teams play. With over 7,000 players, Lonestar Soccer Club will continue to support the league to attract the best level of competition for all of its players against the best clubs in the region with the following program structure/teams:
- ECNL North (U13-U19 age groups)
- ECNL South (U13-U19 age groups)
- ECRL (U13-U19 age groups)
In addition to the ECRL league entry, Lonestar Soccer Club is excited to announce updated staffing changes for the upcoming year:
Darren Warham, ECNL Director at Lonestar, will finish the season in a strong position within the Lonestar ECNL teams before taking over the Charlotte Independence Boys ECNL program. Darren’s unrivaled service to Lonestar Soccer Club is one of the many reasons why Lonestar Soccer Club continues to perform at the highest level. Most notably, he coached the U15 ECNL STH to ECNL Nationals where they finished 6th in the country and coached the U17 ECNL STH to an undefeated season in the Texas Conference, both during the 2020-2021 season. We thank Darren for his tremendous service to the club, and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
Ron Dennie will take over as the new Director of Coaching for the Boys ECNL program. Ron’s experience and long-time service to the club at the highest levels provides stability and institutional knowledge in the Lonestar Boys ECNL program.
“Ron’s credentials to lead the program speak for themselves. He has a wealth of soccer knowledge as a former college and pro player along with numerous noteworthy accomplishments as a director and coach at all levels of the game ” - Brian Monaghan, Executive Director of Soccer
Steve Bailey will transition to the ECRL Director of Coaching for the newly-created Lonestar ECRL teams. Coach Bailey will offer a stellar opportunity for current and interested players to compete in a high-level league, while advancing opportunities to advance the club further in pursuit of creating a first-class development environment for U13-U19 boys.
“I am very excited about the new position in the club - our players and club have earned the right to play against the best competition. We look forward to the upcoming season!” - Steve Bailey
Tristan Donovan will move forward as the new Assistant DOC for the Boys ECNL program to support Ron Dennie and the ECNL players. Tristan’s coaching in the ECNL program brings a wealth of knowledge that will further enhance the development of our top-tier players.
Sergio Torres will continue to coach within the Boys ECNL program, ensuring that high level coaching is provided to every player. Sergio’s experience working with the Elite players from U11-U19 and in the ECNL program will provide continuity across our age groups in delivering the best coaching staff possible in Central Texas.
We are also excited to announce that Mauro Fernandez will join Lonestar and the ECNL program to round out a very talented and experienced coaching staff. Mauro brings a wealth of experience and shows the eagerness to coach at the highest level. He is looking forward to the challenge and will be a vital asset to the boys’ ECNL staff.
Lonestar Soccer Club is excited to see the above changes take place for the upcoming year, and wish all our players and staff the best of luck. We Are Lonestar!
